“A View From The Trenches” On Non-Competition/Non-Solicitation Agreements
On August 29, 2023, Scott Newar presented the Houston Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) with “A View From the Trenches” on non-competition and non-solicitation agreements.
In his hour-long Zoom presentation—excerpts of which are attached—Newar discussed the current state of the law on the enforceability of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements.
Newar also provided the engineers with practical “do’s” and “don’ts” for how to respond when employers demand they sign these restrictive agreements/covenants and before they go to work for a competing entity.
Finally, Newar revealed how litigation to enforce non-compete/non-solicitation agreements actually transpires—with examples from Newar Law’s extensive litigation practice in this area of law.
